Nowhere is this more evident than with Apple’s new wireless AirPod headphones, which largely because of their unique design implications and light sensor to detect when they are in your ear, cannot be replaced in case of theft. Can You Track Stolen Airpods?
No, you cannot track your lost or stolen AirPods. If you misplace your AirPods, there is no way to track their location.
Why You Can Not Track Stolen Airpods?

AirPods sync with only one device
With AirPods, you can only connect them to one device at a time. If you have both an iPhone and an iPad, you can only use them with one device at a time. This means that if you lose one of your AirPods, you can not track stolen AirPods on the other device. You have to go back to the other device and look for the missing AirPod there. If you use iCloud, you can try to see if the missing one has synced with iCloud. But if you have lost both AirPods together, you can not track stolen AirPods.
AirPods trackers don’t work very well
The best AirPod trackers are supposed to be able to show you the last place that your AirPods were. But these trackers don’t really work. Fortunately, Apple has not released any tracking feature yet. If they had, you could not track stolen AirPods. So, you can be grateful that it is not yet possible to track your AirPods. So, right now, you can track stolen AirPods. But it is very difficult to do this. You have to manually look for the last place that you had your AirPods. You can not track stolen AirPods remotely. This means that you have to be at the last place where you were using them.
You can not find the last place you had your AirPods
This is very common among AirPod owners. The last place where you had your AirPods is the place where you lost them. So, when you look for the last place where you had them, you will not be able to find that place. If you’re lucky, you might find them there. But if you don’t, you can not track stolen AirPods. You can only go back to the last place where you were using them. This means that if you go to the gym in the morning, you can not track stolen AirPods even if you lose them there. You have to remember the last place you were using them. If you are not sure about the last place you used them, you can not track stolen AirPods.
There is no remote-lock feature for lost AirPods

But unfortunately, there is no remote-lock feature for lost AirPods. So, even if you have lost your AirPods, you can not track stolen AirPods. You can only look for them. Some people say that you can lock them by clicking and holding the button on the case. But that does not work. If you have lost your AirPods, you can not track stolen AirPods.
Apple does not recognize Stolen Airpods
This is the most important reason why you can not track stolen AirPods. Apple does not recognize your stolen AirPods. So, when you report that your AirPods have been stolen, Apple will not help you to track stolen AirPods. You have to do it all by yourself. Now, you know why you can not track stolen AirPods. But this does not mean that you have to give up. You can still protect yourself. You just have to be careful when you are wearing your AirPods. You can also buy protective cases for your AirPods.
What To Do If Your Airpods Get Stolen
1. Report it to Apple
You can report the theft to Apple and hopefully, they will replace your AirPods with a new pair. You can find the contact details of Apple here.
2. Purchase a new pair of AirPods
If you purchase a new pair of AirPods, then you have to activate and pair them with your iPhone or iPad as explained in my previous post on how to activate and pair your AirPods with an iOS device.
3. Remove the battery from your AirPod’s case if possible
If you are not able to remove the battery from the case, then there is no other way but to call Apple for help and request them to replace the battery in your AirPod’s case. They may ask you for some proof of purchase, but they will replace your case with a new one.
4. Contact the police
You can contact the police and file a case against whoever stole your AirPods.
5. Organise a group of people to look for your lost AirPods
If you have lost your AirPods, then it is good to organize a group of people to look for them and keep an eye out for them while they are out in public. There are some online groups on Facebook that you can use to get help searching for your AirPods.
6. Purchase another pair of wireless headphones or earphones
If you have lost your AirPods, then it is good to purchase another pair of wireless headphones or earphones.
7. Buy a pair of wireless headphones or earphones that support Apple’s W1 chip
You can buy a pair of wireless headphones or earphones that support Apple’s W1 chip and use them to listen to music without the hassle of pairing them with your iOS device. These wireless headphones and earphones are good for people that don’t want to use the AirPods because they are not compatible with an iOS device. How To Find A Lost Or Stolen Iphone
- Check the last location the device was in. This is the best place to start.
- Check your iPhone’s settings to see if there are any unusual locations set where it has been. If so, check them, too.
- If you have an iPhone that you have lost or stolen, use Find My iPhone or iCloud to locate your device
- If you do not have an iPhone, contact Apple and ask them to locate your device for you (they will charge you).
- Contact the police if your iPhone is lost or stolen, and they will help link it to a crime report in their database.
- Contact Apple and tell them what happened and provide information about the person who took it from you or how it was lost/stolen (this helps in tracking down the thief).
