Do you ever feel like the world is conspiring against you? Maybe that’s because it is. Everything seems to be against the idea of you being able to print with white ink. It seems like everything from printers, to software, to inks themselves all have some sort of vendetta against the ability to print with white ink. That’s why today, we’re going to look at 4 different ways you can implement printing with white ink into your home or office setup. This will hopefully help ease some of those feelings of betrayal and enable you to get back on track with a vengeance!
How To Print With White Ink
Bleaching with Light
This method might seem odd to some, but it actually works exceptionally well. It’s a bit like reverse photo-processing. You take a picture of the item you want to print with white ink, then you turn off all the lights in the room that you’re printing in. You then take a high-powered light and shine it directly on the item. You want the light to be as close to the item as possible. Now, the light is bleaching the item and making it white. So you’re basically using your light as a giant light bulb. Once the item is completely white, you can turn on the lights again. Then you just print out the image and have your white ink ready to go!
Utilize Light Grey Ink
Some inks are naturally more grey than others. This means that they are a lighter color. If you utilize light grey ink, you can print on a white surface and have a black print. This is perfect for t-shirts or anything that has a black design on it. It’s pretty easy to do too. Just make sure that you’re using light grey ink and not dark grey. If you try and use dark grey, you will get a dark black print. This isn’t what you want.
Utilize Light Black Ink (AKA Black Light)
If you want to use black ink but still print white, you can utilize light black ink. This is different from regular black ink in that it’s not completely black. This allows you to print a white design onto a white surface. It’s easy too. Just make you’re using the light black ink, not the regular black. Now, it’s important to note that you’re not actually printing white. You’re printing light black ink. This is a subtle but important difference. So when you print the design, you’re not getting white. You’re getting a light black design. This is perfect for something like a t-shirt or a hoodie. And it’s especially good for things like handmade items like crocheted blankets and baby blankets.
Use a White Marker
Now, this might be the strangest option on the list, but it’s also one of the cheapest and most accessible options. If you need to print white onto a white surface and don’t have access to any of the items from the other options on this list, you can use a white marker. This will let you print white onto a white surface. It will also let you do it immediately and on the go. However, there are a few restrictions. First of all, you only have a limited amount of space to work with. You’re only going to be able to print a few words on a white surface. And they also have to be in all caps. This is because you don’t have the fine tip control that you can get with a real printer. This is more like writing with a marker on a whiteboard. However, it’s a cheap, easy way to print white onto a white surface.
When Should Print With White Ink?
1. For kids
When you’re printing for kids, you don’t want them to see a black print. So when you’re printing a white design onto something like a t-shirt or hoodie, use white ink. This will make the design invisible and give it an illusion of being black.
2. For DIYs
If you’re doing something that requires some type of screen printing, like screen printing on shirts or screen printing on fabric, then you want to use white ink. This is because white ink is more visible than other colors and won’t be hidden by the image itself. But if you are going to do a whole shirt or quilt with only one color on it, then use black ink because it will be less visible than white ink would be.
3. For art projects
One of my favorite things to print with white ink is for art projects like canvas prints and hand-stitched artwork. You can print something really cool onto canvas and have it look completely different from how it looks when printed with regular black ink. So if you have any type of art project that requires color, then try out this option instead of regular black ink!
4. For clothes
If you’re making clothes for your family members or friends, then consider using this option instead of the traditional black option. Think about how many times they will wear their clothes throughout the year and how many times they wash their clothes in order to determine how often you need to print. If you’re doing something like a shirt or sweatshirt, then you can use white ink for the whole thing. But if it’s more like a piece of clothing that will be worn once or twice, then use black ink for the entire thing.
5. For DIY projects
When it comes to DIY projects, I don’t recommend using white ink to print on things because it doesn’t look as professional as using black ink would. However, if you want to do something where it won’t matter too much and it doesn’t have to last forever, then this option is perfect! You can make your own clothes out of fabric and create custom designs with white ink that will look great even if they get worn only once or twice before they get thrown away!
6. For home decor
You can also use white ink when printing on things like paintings and decorative items around your house. White ink is a great option for printing onto wood because you can see the printed image better than when printing onto fabric or other types of surfaces. And when used in decorative items like lamps and vases, this option will make them look very modern and stylish!
Conclusion
As you can see, there are many different ways you can print with white ink. You can use light grey ink, light black ink, white light, or even a white marker. All of these are cheap and easy options that can work for any home or office printer. So why not try out one of these techniques next time you need to print white? Maybe then the printer won’t feel so betrayed.
FAQs:
Q: How do I remove white ink?
A: You can either use a bit of soap and water to remove it, or you can just use an eraser. The soap and water method is a little more effective, but because the ink is so light you won’t see any difference in the color of your paper. You can also just use an eraser to erase it from your paper!
Q: My printer won’t print in black. What do I do?
A: This can be caused by many different things, but the most common is that there isn’t enough black ink in your cartridge. The other cause could be that there’s a clog somewhere in your printer’s ink system. If you’re having this problem then try changing out your cartridge and cleaning up the nozzles.

Q: How much is white ink?
A: You can purchase white ink cartridges in sizes ranging from 3ml all the way up to 30ml. I recommend purchasing a 10ml cartridge because it’s small enough to fit into most printers but big enough to print at least 50 pages of text or more!
